WINGS AS RESOURCES

The types on either side of our core Enneagram type, called “wings”, can be considered potential resources for us to use in our personal and professional lives. How would the wings be a resource for each type? Move the words listed in the middle under the tree to the correct wing.

Video: Convergence with Ginger Lapid-Bogda PhD and Jerry Wagner PhD

One way of understanding our wings, the types on either side of our core type, is that our actual type represents a resolution of the challenges or points of view of the types on either side of our core type. You can watch this video of Ginger discussing this theory with Enneagram teacher and author, Jerry Wagner.

WINGS AS OUR PSYCHOLOGICAL SHADOW

Think of ‘wings’ as shadows of each type, something a person needs to integrate into their core type for their growth. One theory is that the type before your core type needs to be integrated (‘owned’ as part of you rather than rejected or projected onto someone else) before you integrate qualities of that type directly after your core type.  Shadows can be positive or negative qualities.
